We collect the following information from you:

Mailing List with MailChimp
If you sign up to our mailing list, then we will primarily receive your email address and (if supplied) first and last name. This information is hosted by MailChimp and stored by them to which only a few admin members of ACT have access. Mailchimp records other information about you and your responses to our emails such as approximate location, web browser, the date you were added to our mailing list, the date that you edited your preferences and the method by which you were added (i.e. manually added by our administrator or electronically via an embedded web form) as well as whether you opened the email we sent to you or not. MailChimp’s privacy policy can be found here: MailChimp Privacy Policy.

Ticket Purchase with PayPal
If you use our site to buy tickets for our performances through PayPal, then PayPal receives your details along with the amount that you paid and number of tickets and shares some of this information with us. We do not receive your payment card details or postal address. Any additional information you enter for the transaction (e.g. card number) is controlled by PayPal, which has it’s own privacy policy here: PayPal Privacy Policy.

Electronic Data
In order to establish and maintain security for all users, this website deploys a web application firewall. It sits locally on the server and scans all traffic against an ever-changing set of security rules. For reasons of Legitimate Interest, it may collect electronic data such as the website visitor’s IP address, operating system information, browser information, geographical location and the date and time of the website visit. In the event of an actual or potential security breach, the firewall shares the IP address and other electronic data with it’s developer, Defiant, Inc. (Privacy Policy) so they can protect other people from malicious IP addresses. This data will usually be stored for 90 days unless there is still malicious activity for that data in which case it is kept until no longer malicious. Additionally, our website contains electronic submission forms that use Google reCaptcha to prevent malicious use. If you submit a form on our website, you do so in agreement with Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

International Data Transfers
In your use of this website, information which you provide may be transferred to countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the European Economic Area.

Using a basis of ‘Legitimate Interest’ we receive this information so that we can provide a better service to you. If you sign up to our mailing list, then we use your email address (and we may use your name, if supplied) to keep you informed of forthcoming shows. We only usually send around a dozen emails per year.

We like to make it easier for you to book tickets by using our online box office, and for legal reasons there is a minimum amount of information that PayPal requires for this. On the night of the show, we will print a list of online bookers for our door staff, so they know who is coming. This list will only contain surnames and the quantity of tickets bought. Although PayPal will share your email address with us, we will not automatically add you to our mailing list. You must opt-in to this separately. We may contact you by email if we notice a problem with your transaction.

We will keep your details on our mailing list until we deem that you no longer have a legitimate interest in our activities. Due to our pantomime being biennial, we will remove you from the mailing list after a period of inactivity lasting 4 years.

For more information on PayPal’s use of your data, please consult their own Privacy Policy here: PayPal Privacy Policy

Our third parties (PayPal and MailChimp) will host the information that you submit (for the above services) pursuant to their own privacy policies here:

You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time and manage your emailing preferences using the links at the bottom of the emails we send out. You can ask us to delete your details from our mailing list. You can request either of these things at any time by emailing contact@abbeycommunitytheatre.co.uk, or writing to us at the above address.
